EAS Electrotechnical Advanced Apprenticeship

EAS apprentice learners complete the full AA framework
We also offer an Intruder Alarm and Emergency Systems Apprenticeshipin London and Manchester

EAS Electrotechnical apprentice learners complete the full Advanced Apprenticeship (AA) framework at Level 3.

What the learner gets:

The EAS programme is a proposed four year vocational training course that combines on the job experience with a professional and industry wide recognised qualification. It is designed to ensure all achievers are trained to the highest standards, with the right skill levels for the future.

All EAS apprentices benefit from a structured learning and achievement model based on their actual work-based learning and applied competence in the workplace. Our enhanced AA training scheme is tailored to match the apprentice's own progression, rather than teaching them to simply pass an exam or assessment.

Once they've successfully completed the apprenticeship, they will be able to practice as a qualified JIB registered electrician. Their qualification will include:

    • The full industry recognised associated Electrotechnical Advanced Apprenticeship:

The QCF level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Installation

The QCF level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Maintenance

    • Functional skills, as required
    • The AM2 certificate

Benefits for the employer:

  • For 16 to 18 year olds, the scheme is normally fully funded. A contribution is required for 19 to 24 year olds (see FAQs).
  • A full collaborative partnership between you and us.
  • Our trained and qualified staff are here to support you too.
  • A learner review programme where you are included and not ignored.
  • A skilled and ultimately qualified employee with usable skills that support your business throughout their training and beyond.
  • All apprentice candidates will be required to sit a selection test prior to acceptance onto the AA programme.

We also offer an Intruder Alarm and Emergency Systems Apprenticeship in London and Manchester

Frequently asked questions

Yes, there is normally full funding available for apprentices aged 16 to 18 years for their training. All the employer needs to pay for is their salary and travel. However, due to reduced government funding there are limited spaces for 19 to 24 year old learners available, which are only partially funded at approximately 50%.

Whilst we recommend pay scales to be in line with the JIB published rates, it is entirely your decision. There are also published government guidelines for employers taking on apprentices. For more information, go online to: www.apprenticeships.org.uk/ Employers.aspx

Yes, one AM2 examination fee is included within the EAS Advanced Apprenticeship programme. Whilst we provide full training, preparation and guidance necessary for the learner to be 'ready for AM2' and will only ever put them forward in agreement with yourselves, there can never be a guarantee of passing. Any retakes of this examination may require a small fee, but this will always be discussed with you first.

There are no hidden costs.

The industry recommended length for the apprenticeship is 42 months but we always set an initial four year programme time for all learners. However, this will vary from learner to learner, with many completing ahead of our schedule but within the industry recommended timescale. Some apprentices, along with their employers, do benefit from a slightly longer and stress free program. You will always know how well your apprentice is doing because of the collaboration and reviews programme partnership between you and us.

Primarily we have planned for a day release model of one day per week for around 36 weeks in the first three years - either at our training facilities in Northampton, Sittingbourne, Bury (Manchester) and Bury St Edmunds, or at one of our associated partner centre's located throughout England so there will always be a 'local' provision. Subject to sufficient demand from employers, we may be able to accommodate a block release model as well though.
